RMCF continues to grow

In June of 2007Mark Pfoff established Rocky Mountain Computer Forensics (RMCF) to provide consulting and forensic examinations of computers, cell phones, and other digital media in non-criminal cases. Since then Mark has assisted with multiple investigations and conducted forensics on multiple items of digital evidence.

2014, RMCF entered into a business agreement with San Agustin Consulting LLC to collaborate on business opportunities providing consulting in criminal and civil cases.

October 2014, Mark Pfoff retired from law enforcement to focus on his consulting business.

In 2017, RMCF acquired additional software applications to examine cell phones and cell phone records. This allows RMCF to provide more functionality to its clients.

In 2019, RMCF goes national having worked on projects from Alaska to New York City.

Spring 2020, RMCF enters into a strategic alliance with EPPS Digital Forensics located in Phoenix, AZ. This arrangement allows both firms to provide additional services to their clients.

Fall of 2022, Mark Pfoff testifies in Colorado hearing resulting in ruling excluding TRAX software from the courtroom as unreliable and not based in science. (People v Jones) Because some law enforcement agencies still use this software it could have long lasting repercussions in the judicial system. READ MORE

Spring of 2023, RMCF announces the addition of Ryan Harris to its consulting team. Ryan received his Masters in Criminal Justice and is a Certified Cellebrite Operator and Physical Analyst. He will provide much needed knowledge in the area of cellphone forensics. Along with the addition of Ryan is the addition of the Cellebrite platform for extracting cellphones. RMCF now has the capability to use the same equipment as many government agencies.

Mark Pfoff founded Rocky Mountain Computer Forensics and is an experienced computer engineer turned detective and digital forensic examiner. He has over 35 years experience with computers. After working as an engineer for such companies as Digital Equipment Corporation and MCI, he went into law enforcement full time. Mark worked as a Detective with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado Springs, Colorado for over 10 years specializing in computer related crimes. He retired from law enforcement in October of 2014 after a 17 year career.

Mark has an extensive background and knowledge in cellular technology, call detail records analysis, cell phone forensics, computer forensics and much more.
